how come u guys changed the topic from cognitive/perspective psychology to child development psychology?
i took a class about what we see thru our eyes and stuff like that b4, i don't find that as interesting as child development.
in my other child development class, we studied about this girl who was trapped in a small from ever since she was born until she was 11 years old.
she was physically and mentally abused by her parents. they would beat her and yell at her if she leaves her tiny little room that has nothing. and they didn't teach her ANYTHING....
so all the 11 years, she was living in a tiny room with a chair...nothing else.
she doesn't know how to talk, how to write, how to use her voice, how to eat with manners, how to walk....
think about it, she was 11 years old, but she's exactally like a baby.
she doesn't even know how to use the bathroom either. how sad!
and a group of scientists found out about that, and started to work on her.
she did had some improvements on recognizing words and grammar and stuff like that, but she couldn't go further.
and the project was stopped b/c it didn't get approved, so the girl was left in the ophan place. unfortunately, that girl died when she was 16 or something like that.
i 4got whats the name of the case...its the name of that girl.
its a very interesting case b/c it shows how important the process from a baby to childhood is. |
